STORMWATER UPDATE
On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, the Town of Stantonsburg, in collaboration with AECOM, the EPA, and NCDEQ, launched the evaluation of the Stantonsburg Storm Water System. Present from AECOM were team members Jenna Bacic, Maureen Harris, Chris Shannon, Todd St John, and Chad Sykes.
The town is actively developing a comprehensive storm water plan to address community concerns, and citizens can expect increased efforts to enhance the storm water systems in the upcoming weeks. This includes the commencement of clearing various storm drain ditches to improve storm water outflow.
Within one week of the initial site visit, AECOM will provide a detailed site visit report summarizing activities, findings, discussions, data collected, next steps, action items, and other relevant information.
In addition, the initiative will feature upcoming nature-based stormwater strategies that harness natural systems to manage stormwater more effectively. Public input opportunities will be made available, allowing community members to participate in the planning process and share their insights. Stay tuned for announcements about upcoming meetings and engagement opportunities to ensure that the community’s voice is heard in shaping the storm water management approach.
